Fighting for pink again as ‘AmberGreen Energy Tour of Ulster’ is announced

The Tour of Ulster is Ireland’s longest established cycling race and since it was established in 1957 its popularity has rocketed.

In 2015, cyclists from around Europe will travel to Northern Ireland to take part in the ‘AmberGreen Energy Tour of Ulster’ which will take riders from Stormont, to Newry, onto Armagh and finishing in Cookstown. The tour is embedded in the racing calendar and is a highlight of the racing year.

Chef Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall gives Armagh Bramley Apple the thumbs up

Here’s Dean Coppard of Uluru Bar & Grill cooking at the first ever Richhill Apple Harvest Fayre which was a celebration of the Armagh Bramley Apple.

NITB chairman and special guest Dr Howard Hastings OBE quoted celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall who is also a fan of cooking with the Armagh Bramley Apple. He said: “For golden compote, the Armagh Bramley is hard to beat – cooked with a tiny bit of orange zest, it’s delicious.”

NITB chief praises apple harvest fayre as an event which connects us to our land

This weekend the people of Armagh and beyond will celebrate the Bramley Apple at a brand new fayre in the heart of the orchard county.

We interviewed Dr Howard Hastings OBE, chairman of NITB, who has praised the organisers for making such an event happen. The fayre is being sponsored by Irwin’s Bakery, Gilfresh and Wilsons Country. The event features cookery demonstrations and much more.
