Ulster Carpets announced as headline sponsor for NI Hotel Awards
THE organisers of the upcoming NI Hotel Awards have announced Ulster Carpets as the headline sponsor for the event which will take place at Titanic Belfast on November 5.
The awards, which celebrate performance of hotels in our cities, towns and in rural areas, will be split into two main categories – the National Hotel Awards and Service Excellence Awards.
Judging has begun and is being led by Dr Peter Bolan, Director of International Hospitality and Tourism Management at the University of Ulster who is joined on the judging panel by well-known travel journalist Geoff Hill, Adam Stockman, owner of The Ivory Belfast and Q Radio presenter Cate Conway who is also the director of Quirky Weddings.
Event Director David Perry said the event is committed to showcasing and rewarding the hard work and dedication of those working in the hospitality sector which have contributed to Northern Ireland’s reputation as a leading tourism destination.
Speaking at Titanic Belfast, Mr Perry said: “Hoteliers right across the region, and their teams, play a vital role in providing a high quality tourism offering which exists for visitors who come here for family holidays, Game of Thrones Tours, a food and drink experience, visiting the lakes, the mountains, the spectacular North Antrim coastline and Northern Ireland’s famous orchard county of Armagh. We are delighted with the number of entries from right across the board.
“These awards endeavour to promote what Northern Ireland has to offer, recognise those working in the hotel industry for their welcome and hospitality for guests and they are also an excellent way for hoteliers to show appreciation of their teams who contribute so much to the overall Northern Ireland welcome.
“The National Hotel Awards showcase the hotel and guest houses and the Service Excellence Awards are an excellent way for hoteliers to show their appreciation for the hard working staff from all departments and to encourage them to strive to exceed guest expectations.”
Nick Coburn, Managing Director of Ulster Carpets, said: “The success of Game of Thrones and, more recently, The Open in Portrush, along with the stunning beauty of our country, has attracted more and more tourists to Northern Ireland. The hotel sector in Northern Ireland plays an essential role in this success by providing our famous Northern Irish hospitality and we’re proud to acknowledge that dedication by supporting the Northern Ireland Hotel Awards 2019.”
