Independent supermarket takes the lead to support struggling dairy farmers

A family run independent supermarket is leading the way in offering practical support to dairy farmers struggling during the current crisis.

Emerson’s Supermarket in Armagh will donate 10p to Rural Support for every two litres of Dale Farm milk bought in store. The move has been welcomed by Ian Marshall, President of the Ulster Farmers’ Union and by Jude McCann from Cookstown based Rural Support which offers a support service to farming families. Markethill High School students achieve best GCSE results in the school’s history

The students at Markethill High School have excelled themselves yet again by achieving the best ever GCSE results in the school’s history.

Principal James Maxwell and the Board of Governors have passed on their congratulations to the pupils at the school this morning. More than 80 per cent achieving five or more GCSEs and a record 68 per cent achieving 5 or more A*-C including English and Maths. Here’s the full story:
