Opportunities define who we are says Markethill High Principal

Markethill High School is a co-educational 11-16 Comprehensive School situated in the town. Since 1959 the school has been educating pupils of all abilities from a wide geographical area.

The principal and Board of Governors gathered this week to host the Keystage Three prizegiving which celebrates the success of its pupils. Principal James Maxwell marked the occasion by encouraging pupils to look for opportunities to get the best out of their education.

Markethill High School is a school which continues to thrive and its most recent accolade is winning the British Council International School Award which was celebrated at the school.

A British Council assessor said: “This is an outstanding action plan and a credit to your school. Markethill High School has clearly demonstrated its continued commitment to embedding internationalism into the curriculum during the years it has been involved in the International School Award.”

Datum has been appointed by Dublin based construction group – SIAC Ltd to monitor the €3.5m Cork’s Kent Station entrance and subway project on behalf of Irish Rail. The project will see the construction of two new entrance buildings and a new bi-directional road.
