INTO Northern Conference 2015

As delegates and guests gathered for the INTO Northern Conference 2015 the Sacred Heart College, Omagh Senior Vocal Ensemble and Senior Choir performed under the direction of Mrs Kelly O’Doherty, accompanied by Mrs Sinead Rodgers. Ald. Jack Rankin, Deputy Mayor Limavady Borough Council, opened the INTO Northern Conference 2015, by welcoming delegates and guests to the Raddison Roe Hotel, in Limavady on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 February 2015. Mark McTaggart, Vice-Chair, called on Annmarie Conway, Chairperson of INTO Northern Committee, to address Conference. Annmarie Conway, Chairperson of INTO Northern Committee, introduced other keynote speakers included: John O’Dowd, Education Minister, Sean McMahon, INTO President, Gerry Murphy, INTO Northern Secretary, and Noel Ward, INTO General Treasurer. The delegates heard from a wide range of speakers and discussed and voted on the number of motions in relation to the education situation and the public sector. At the conference dinner on Friday evening the Art Competition Winner was announced as Olivia Conlon, Belfast West Branch, with Work in oils ‘Where Does the Time go?’ There was also Branch Presentations by Limavady/Dungiven Branch gaven to Mrs Mairead McNulty, for 34 years’ service & commitment to Branch delegate at conference; Mrs Joan Guthrie, for 30 years’ service & commitment to Branch current Chairperson; and Mrs Helen McGee, for 25 years’ service & commitment to Branch current Vice-chairperson. At the close of conference on Saturday Annmarie Conway made a short address to Conference before handing over to Mark McTaggart the Incoming Chairperson of INTO Northern Committee.
