For the past 18 months the team have worked their way through a major transition as part of a £2million investment which included the relocation of Uluru Bar & Grill. The team have worked tirelessly to create an Australian neighbourhood style restaurant. But now, it’s time for the chefs to shine as Dean heads off on a new challenge.

Australian Chef Dean Coppard, from Uluru Bar and Grill, will be leading the cookery demonstrations at this year’s NI CountrySports Fair.

Dean will showcase his authentic cuisine by combining two of Northern Ireland’s finest PGI products at next week’s Fair – the Lough Neagh Eel and the famous Orchard County Bramley Apple. Dean said: “From sourcing new products from the field, sea or loughs this year’s CountrySports Fair will be served up something completely unique.”

Housing crisis is looming as ICTU warns against privatisation of NIHE portfolio

Northern Ireland is on the verge of a housing crisis if plans continue to transfer more and more Housing Executive stock to the voluntary sector.

Brian Campfield, President of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU), told delegates at the biennial conference that if the Housing Executive sells its portfolio of houses, then people would no longer be able to afford private rents, and, as a result, education and health would also suffer and jobs would be lost.

Farm groups support motion to stay in EU as ICTU lobby for workers’ interests

Farmers and businesses are being urged to work together – that’s a key message during a debate on Brexit at the ICTU conference today.

Peter Bunting, assistant General Secretary of the ICTU, said if Northern Ireland has a chance of growing its economy its members must vote ‘Yes’ in the EU referendum. £150,000 investment announced for Markethill High a ‘step in the right direction’

The Department of Education have announced a £150,000 investment for Markethill High School – a move which has been welcomed by the school.

Principal James Maxwell said the £146,300 investment for the provision of prefabricated accommodation shows the Education Minister is taking positive steps to provide better facilities for the school and its pupils. Mr Maxwell reiterated the school’s sights are firmly set on a new build and sixth form provision.
