North Coast brothers pitch to Richard Branson but miss out on top prize

Two North Coast brothers travelled to London in a quest to win £50,000 in the Virgin Business Media competition Pitch To Rich.

Ricky Martin, of The Skunkworks Surfboard Company and owner of Alive Surf School, faced billionaire Richard Branson and a panel of prestigious judges to tell the story of the next generation surfboards which are being manufactured in Coleraine. The guys didn’t win but they had an amazing experience. Here’s the story:

Golfing legend Graeme McDowell has taken to his social media accounts to support two brothers in the #Voom Pitch to Rich competition.

Ricky and Chris Martin of The Skunkworks Surfboard Company were delighted when their old school buddy sent the voting link to his his 672,598 Twitter followers, his 133,000 Facebook followers and 49,700 Instagram followers. Tour of Ulster stage two called off as cyclists battle snow, rain and high winds

Stage Two of the AmberGreen Energy Tour of Ulster has been called off today as cyclists battled their way through snow, sleet and high winds.

Organiser Garry Nugent said calling off the gruelling road race was the right thing to do in the interests of safety. The race, which is Ireland’s longest established road race, has attracted teams from Australia, Holland, Belgium, England, Scotland and from the north and south of Ireland. The battle for pink begins as elite cyclists gear up for the Tour of Ulster

Today begins the 2015 AmberGreen Energy Tour of Ulster with the welcome of 150 elite cyclists from across the globe to Northern Ireland.

The race starts with a time trial at the Stormont Estate this evening with people gathering at 6.30pm. Tomorrow, they will leave Belfast from Malone Playing Fields before racing to Newry. On Sunday, they leave for Cookstown and on Monday, a circuit race takes place in Cookstown. Come and cheer them on.

It’s half way time for Stephane and Peter as running men head to the Isle of Man

Rick Stein’s Head Chef, Stephane Delourme and owner of Worldwide Financial Planning began their Celtic 7 Marathon Challenge a few months ago in Belfast.

The pair have since raised approximately £20,000 for charity. Stephane and Peter’s efforts have featured in several media outlets as they reach the half way mark.
