Amber Green celebrates solar as customers produce 1.5 megawatts of renewable power

By Eleanor McGillie

CUSTOMERS of Amber Green Solar, a leading Northern Irish solar energy solutions company, have installed over 1.5 megawatts of renewable power in the last 12 months.

The company, which has bases in Moy and Belfast, has exceeded its target of sold orders which means its customers will be generating 1,205,039 kWh of green energy per annum and will save the environment around 763 tons in harmful Co2 emissions.

Over the next year this group of Amber Green customers will share approximately £212,393 of guaranteed income through the Renewable Obligation Certificate (ROC) scheme. They will also share £32,569 of additional income by exporting the excess energy they produce back to the electrical grid. Because Amber Green Solar customers are generating free electricity they will also have made a combined saving of £107,159 on displacing electricity charges from their existing electricity supplier.

The combined income and savings for this group of Amber Green customers will be somewhere in the region of £7.5 million over the next 20 years.

To celebrate their contribution to green energy production in Northern Ireland, Amber Green hosted an exclusive garden party at Gosford Castle for over 250 people yesterday (Sun, Sept 22, 2013) as a thank you to their staff and customers for their support over the last year.

Technical Director of Amber Green Solar, Noel Gallagher, said: “The Mega Megawatt Garden Party was to show customers and the Amber Green teams that the work they are doing in Northern Ireland is making a significant contribution to greening the economy.

“Amber Green is a trusted channel of choice for the delivery of quality renewable energy solutions. People trust our brand to deliver the solutions that work. We are installing energy systems every day on farms, car showrooms, homes and on roofs of all sorts of businesses across the province”.

People in Northern Ireland care about how they spend their money. A few months ago when Power NI and Airtricity announced an 18 per cent price increase, the interest in energy saving and especially solar energy rose accordingly.”

As energy prices are set to continue to rise, Amber Green believes that the demand for green energy and self-generation will grow accordingly and they will be there to help customers navigate the complex array of solutions available to them.

Mr Gallagher added: “Solar is only one green energy solution under the AmberGreen Energy umbrella. There is much more to be done in Northern Ireland to help businesses and domestic bill payers to become energy independent and we will continually strive to be the company which leads the way in delivering long term solutions.”

Amber Green used the event to launch their new and exclusive range of wood pellet boilers for homes and businesses.
