AmberGreen Energy announce acquisition of solar pv installer Global Solar Renewables
By Eleanor McGillie
LEADING renewable energy developer, Amber Green Energy, has acquired Global Solar Renewables in a buyout which will strengthen the company’s position in the renewable energy sector in Northern Ireland.
Amber Green Energy has been working with Global Solar Renewables since 2011 as their preferred solar PV installation partner.
The acquisition will strengthen Amber Green’s position as it holds all of the professional accreditations in-house – MCS, REAL and NICEIC and also is proud to offer all customers a 25 year warranty on the performance of its solar panel installations.
Dwyer O’Neill, Amber Green Energy’s chief executive, said the acquisition will provide major benefits for existing customers and future customers.
He said: “Both companies have been working side by side on many projects across Northern Ireland since 2011. The team at Global Solar Renewables will bring a high level of expertise and experience which will complement and enhance our core services.
“I am confident that the acquisition will allow us to further improve our quality of service and dramatically expand our market share.”
Mr O’Neill added: “As an MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) Installer it demonstrates that Amber Green meets the high standards and regulations required by the MCS Installer Scheme.
“The MCS Accreditation mark is seen throughout the solar industry as a sign of a high quality installer who uses a high quality product and is a mandatory requirement for consumers looking to access financial incentives and a prerequisite for commercial and social tender requirements.
“At Amber Green, we recognise that choosing a competent and reliable contractor to install a Solar Technology System is a major hurdle for anyone who is interested in an Ecological Technology Solar Solution. As members of the Renewable Energy Association’s REAL Assurance Scheme, we follow a code of practice which is endorsed by The Office of Fair Trading that protects the consumer.”
The NICEIC has been assessing the technical competence of Contractors for over 50 years. Their aim is to protect anyone who uses electricity from unsafe electrical installations. As an NICEIC registered contractor Amber Green Energy are re-assessed on a regular basis to ensure the high standards are met.
Mr O’Neill said: “Using an NICEIC approved contractor is a guarantee that our customers are dealing with a contractor who has demonstrated their competence in the industry.”
Noel Gallagher, MD of Castlewellan based Global Solar Renewables said he is delighted with the acquisition and is now on the Board of Amber Green Energy.
He said: “Global Solar Renewables have had strong links with Amber Green Energy over the past few years and our teams have worked tirelessly together to provide customers across Northern Ireland with a competent team which has been imperative in driving both businesses forward.
“Domestic users and commercial enterprises are very carbon conscious so it is vital to offer customers a fully integrated solution with the combined experience of solar developers and solar installers.
“We are working in a sector which is growing every day so we believe that joining forces is the way forward in offering the best customer service for the high volume customers we are dealing with.”
The company currently employs 13 people and plans to create further job opportunities in the coming months.
