Technology company recruits MGMPR to announce global cloud contract

By Eleanor McGillie

We love working with innovative companies so we were delighted when Toby Parkins of Headforwards in Cornwall asked if we would manage the announcement of a new cloud contract with a global telecoms giant which would create 20 new jobs.

This was a very cool project for us to be involved in because not only do we love Cornwall but we love the forward thinking nature of people in search of sun, sea and fibre connectivity that Cornwall has to offer.

So September 4, 2014 was a special day for the team at Headforwards as they welcomed directors from NTT Communications, the Rt Hon Secretary of State for Business Innovation and Skills, Dr Vince Cable MP and other local politicians.

Securing the contract means Headforwards will work on the Next Generation Cloud Platform for one of the world’s largest telecoms companies and it means the company is now a medium sized enterprise.

Their innovative approach, skills, software and expertise means they are also contributing to shaping university and college courses so large corporate companies can have their share of highly skilled graduates who will use their skills to encourage investment and expansion.

Plymouth university remains committed to supporting the growth of the emerging Cornish software industry and is continuing to work closely with businesses and its partner colleges to develop its computing courses so that a new stream of qualified staff are available.

The jobs announced by Dr Vince Cable MP are described by Sandra Rothwell, CeO of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership as “high quality and high tech”. The LEP is committed to supporting Cornwall’s emerging software sector. Sandra said the announcement is a good indicator of its growing strength and ability to create high-value jobs.

Having lived and worked in the Westcountry for nine years I loved watching businesses in Cornwall lead the way. We are delighted that Headforwards and other leading businesses in the region continue to work with us.

We hope our relationship with businesses across the UK continues to flourish as more and more companies embrace our brand journalism approach in our delivery of effective content marketing.
