Leading home care provider continues to meet Investors in People standard

HOMECARE Independent Living has been awarded the Investors In People (IIP) accreditation again following inspections which show the company continues to meet the IIP Core Standard.
The company, which has offices in Armagh, Belfast, Magherafelt, Ballymena, Sligo, Dundalk and Dublin, demonstrated to IIP that it has a number of strategic objectives in place which identify a number of growth opportunities within the health sector in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
The company, which was first recognised by the IIP since 2004, showed it is constantly reviewing its working practices and structures to ensure the company sustains its current workload while providing support for its growth strategy.
Investors in People specialists said Homecare continues to provide first class induction and training following its recruitment. It commended the company’s social responsibility as being at the heart of the business and also through its charity iCare.
Mairead Mackle, Homecare’s chief executive, said: “We are delighted to be accredited this year by Investors in People. We know the work we do is making a difference in so many people’s lives so it’s essential for us to carry out our duties, in every aspect of our business, with our company values at the heart of everything we do.
“We employ 1,200 people and everyone in our company makes a contribution to how we operate. It’s important as employers that we invest in our people, invest in training, invest in technology and invest in our car fleet which empowers us to deliver a first class home care service on a national scale.”
The Investors in People report also commended Homecare’s meaningful core values which are used to build the culture on which the company is based.
The report states that Homecare recognises that future challenges will include staff recruitment and retention and continues to proactively seek solutions to be an employer of choice within the sector.
