The Uluru team strikes while the oven is hot for #OneMoreMonth
By Eleanor McGillie
ULURU Restaurant is to stay open for the month of January in Market Street, Armagh, before making its much anticipated move to its new location at Emersons.
The restaurant, which had planned to close in January for staff training and equipment testing, is staying open for lunch and dinner so the team can continue to host special occasions and pre theatre dinners.
Dean Coppard, of Uluru, said the management team are looking forward to the relocation and says a date for the opening at Emersons will be announced in due course.
Dean said: “Our team have been working so hard over the Christmas period so we have been on a bit of a break between Christmas and New Year.
“But since January 2 until February 1, we are back in the kitchen. January is about staff training, equipment testing and another month’s trading so people can still enjoy our unique cooking style.
“So much planning is going into our new premises. Everyone knows we are perfectionists so we want to get every minor detail right before we open our doors.
“There are so many people asking us to stay open so we have decided to do that. It will be a lot of hard work but it will be worth it in the end for our customers and for us.”
The restaurant, which is currently located in Market Street, Armagh, has won a string of awards including Restaurant Association of Ireland ‘best restaurant’ and ‘best wine experience’ for county Armagh. It has also been mentioned in The Michelin Guide 2014/15 and is the only restaurant to be listed in The Good Food Guide 2015 for County Armagh.
Dean said opening times will remain the same – Tuesday to Saturday 12-3pm for lunch and Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm til late for dinner. The team will continue to serve its popular pre-theatre two course meals from 5pm-6.45pm at £16.95.
Uluru is open until Sunday February 1. Call 028 3751 8051 or email uluru_bistro@hotmail.co.uk to book a table.
