New Emersons store to get Australian twist as Uluru announce relocation

One of Northern Ireland’s most unique restaurants is to relocate as part of a £2million investment in the high street.

Uluru Bar & Grill, based in the centre of Armagh city, is to relocate to the new look Emerson’s store which is expected to open later this year. Chef Dean Coppard said sourcing local food from local suppliers, developing cooking techniques, enhancing menu offerings and improving on capacity will enhance the experience for all.

NITB chairman and special guest Dr Howard Hastings OBE quoted celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall who is also a fan of cooking with the Armagh Bramley Apple. He said: “For golden compote, the Armagh Bramley is hard to beat – cooked with a tiny bit of orange zest, it’s delicious.”

Last leg of Celtic 7 brings runners to Cornish Alps at Eden Project challenge

THE marathon challenge, which Rick Stein’s Head Chef, Stephane Delourme, and Peter McGahan started last May will draw to a close this Sunday at Cornwall’s Eden Project.

The multi-terrain route on Sunday is challenging and will give runners a taste of the journey that the landscape itself has been through. Highlights include the man-made spoil heaps known as the ‘Cornish Alps’ and the former china clay pit that now entertains over a million visitors a year.

Preparations for the annual magical fundraiser which takes place in Northern Ireland are underway and organisers are calling for volunteers to lend a hand.

Santa’s Gatelodge, which takes place at Milford, Co Armagh every year, attracts 5,000 people from all over Ireland and raises thousands of pounds for people in need.

The supermarket will house the Post Office and a restaurant which will breathe new life back into the city’s historic marketplace.

The redevelopment is expected to be completed by the end of November and will secure up to 150 jobs.
