Maddens truly is mellow as Armagh Cider Company win Gold at Bath & West

The orchards at Armagh Apple Farm near Portadown have been producing cider in Northern Ireland for 10 years now by Armagh Cider Company.

This year, Armagh Cider Company entered the cider into a class competition at the UK’s largest agricultural show – the Bath & West Show held in Shepton Mallet which is in the heart of Westcountry cider region. The Troughton family are delighted to have scooped the Gold Award and have been commended by Anthony Gibson OBE.

The Uluru team strikes while the oven is hot for #OneMoreMonth

Uluru Bar & Grill will be relocating to the new Emersons building in a move which will enhance the dining experience for all.

The team however will continue to serve food until February 1 at its current premises in Market Street for #OneMoreMonth. The date of the new opening will be announced in due course. Uluru has been mentioned in The Michelin Guide 2014/15 and is the only restaurant to be listed in The Good Food Guide 2015 for Co Armagh.

Co Couture in world’s top 40 after International Chocolate Awards Finals 2014

Co Couture is a fine chocolate basement shop on Chichester Street in the heart of Belfast’s city centre.

Co Couture entered its Japanese Cherry Sencha bar into The International Chocolate Awards Finals 2014 which attracted over 950 fine chocolate products from across the globe. The judging panel, made up of experts, food journalists, bloggers, chefs, sommeliers and pastry chefs, awarded silver to Co Couture.

Uluru team are overjoyed as restaurant receives Michelin Guide approval

Uluru Bar & Grill has received notification it is recommended in the Michelin Guide 2015, The McKenna’s Guide and is eligible for the Good Food Award.

New Emersons store to get Australian twist as Uluru announce relocation

One of Northern Ireland’s most unique restaurants is to relocate as part of a £2million investment in the high street.

Uluru Bar & Grill, based in the centre of Armagh city, is to relocate to the new look Emerson’s store which is expected to open later this year. Chef Dean Coppard said sourcing local food from local suppliers, developing cooking techniques, enhancing menu offerings and improving on capacity will enhance the experience for all.

NITB chairman and special guest Dr Howard Hastings OBE quoted celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall who is also a fan of cooking with the Armagh Bramley Apple. He said: “For golden compote, the Armagh Bramley is hard to beat – cooked with a tiny bit of orange zest, it’s delicious.”

New harvest fayre is launched to celebrate the big apple in County Armagh’s eye

The village of Richhill in County Armagh will be celebrating the Armagh Bramley Apple as it prepares to host its first ever Apple Harvest Fayre.

Helping to launch the Richhill Apple Harvest Fayre is Helen Troughton of Armagh Cider Company and Hamilton Loney, chairman of the NI Fruit Growers Association, who say this year is a great year for growing fruit in the orchard county. The event if free and runs from 10am-6pm.
